Dean Baldwin, Muskoka Gary, 2010
Digital C-print, 14x18
Edition of 5

The Design Exchange (DX), Canada's National Design Museum and Centre presents its summer exhibition, Play > Nation, opening July 1st for a 17-week exploration of Canada's love of the great outdoors.

The exhibition will feature works from the DX permanent collection, objects on loan from participating institutions and Canadian companies that include Canada Goose Apparel, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Olson Curling, Bauer and Swift Canoe. A selection of Canadian artists that include Charles Pachter, Dean Baldwin, Diana Thorneycroft, Douglas Coupland, Elinor Whidden and Travis Shilling whose work will be on display will highlight and challenge the mythology of a particular terrestrial milieu. In doing so, Play > Nation will offer a look into our paradigms of play, the universal language of the great outdoors and what unites us from coast to coast.

A exhibition catalogue has been published in conjunction with this exhibition. Click here to read more.
